Decision Support - Soil Diagnostics

Soil-borne disease data is obtained via a unique DNA diagnostic test. The test provides accurate identification and quantification of a range of soil-borne pathogens of cereal rotation crops, but no interpretation of crop risk. The test data is submitted to the PKS LabWizard knowledge base, which contains the most up-to-date knowledge of pathogen/crop interactions. The knowledge base provides an instant interpretation identifying potential risk to crop yield and the cereal rotation management program.

In addition to the pathogen levels PKS LabWizard takes into account a full range of complex and interacting factors including, environmental conditions, soil types, location, available crop varieties and past cropping history to ensure that growers or advisors have the most comprehensive risk analysis when making management decisions. Not only does the knowledge base provide an interpretation of the risks associated with soil-borne pathogen levels it also accesses the latest research data to provide the most current management options and guidelines.
